Online store:
selling outside your opening hours and outside your street.
An online store is not a website with a buy button. It is a warehouse, a catalogue, a tax setup, a shipping contract and an after sales desk, all squeezed onto one screen. Building it well is not hard. Building it before deciding what you sell, to whom and how it gets there is where almost all the money disappears.
Before selling you a shop, we tell you whether you need one
Not every business needs an ecommerce site. Some products sell better with a well photographed catalogue and an order by WhatsApp, with no cart and no gateway. If that is your case we will say so, even though it is a smaller job for us. We prefer that to charging you for a store you will never make back.
Why most small online stores fail
The most common cause is not technical: the shop opens before anyone has costed the shipping. A five kilo product sold at thirty euros does not survive a mainland courier, and that gets discovered after the store has been paid for. Before a line of code is written we look at weight, volume, margin and where your orders would actually go.
The second cause is the catalogue. A hundred products with the supplier photo and the manufacturer description rank for nothing, because that exact page already exists in two hundred other shops. The third is after sales: returns, exchanges and a contact address that answers. Without it, the first bad review undoes six months of work.
What we do, in four steps
The numbers first, the shop after
Weight, volume, margin, shipping zone and returns. If the maths does not work we tell you before charging anything: some businesses do better with a well photographed catalogue and orders by WhatsApp than with a full store.
A catalogue that can be found
Product pages with your own text, your own photos, sizes, materials and everything a buyer asks before deciding. A page copied from the manufacturer does not appear in Google, because Google already has it two hundred times.
Payments, shipping and tax done properly
Payment gateway, courier, free shipping threshold where it makes sense, and the correct VAT per country if you sell outside Spain. This is the part nobody sees and the one that breaks a badly built shop.
Your buyer language and currency
On the Costa Blanca a large share of buyers are British, German or Dutch. The store is built from the start in the languages your customer uses, with written copy, never machine translation.
Included
- A written viability study of shipping, margins and feasibility
- Catalogue with original product pages and real product photography
- Payment gateway, couriers and VAT configured
- Versions in your buyer languages, written rather than machine translated
- Product structured data, for rich results in Google
- Training so you can add a product yourself
Not included
- Logistics or warehousing: we build the store, we do not store or ship your product
- Photographing a thousand references in a month, which is a project of its own and quoted separately
- Selling an ecommerce build to someone it does not pay off for: if the numbers do not work, we say so and we stop
How long it takes
The viability study takes days. A store with a short catalogue, twenty to fifty products done properly, is usually live in four to six weeks. What stretches the timeline is almost never the development: it is product photos and product copy, which is why we start there.
What it costs
It depends on the catalogue and on how complex the shipping and tax setup is, so we do not publish a figure that would not apply to your case. What we always do is close the quote in writing before starting, with the scope spelled out, and not move it afterwards.
How we prepare a quoteFrequently asked questions
What people ask before making up their mind.
How many products do I need for it to be worth it?+
It is not about quantity, it is about margin and weight. Twenty products with a good margin and cheap shipping beat five hundred that cannot carry the courier cost. The viability study answers this with your numbers, not with a rule of thumb.
Can I sell outside Spain?+
Yes, and on the Costa Blanca that is often half the interest. VAT per country, couriers and international returns have to be configured. It can be done from day one or left ready for later.
Is a store worth it if I already sell on Amazon or a marketplace?+
It is worth it to stop paying commission on the sales that are already yours: the customer searching for your name. The usual answer is to keep the marketplace for reach and the own store for loyalty, not to choose one.
Who updates the catalogue?+
You do, if you want, and we teach you. Adding a product should take minutes. If you prefer us to handle it, that sits inside the maintenance contract, which is optional.
Can I start small and grow?+
That is what we recommend almost every time. Open with your best sellers, measure what people actually search for, and expand with data in hand rather than uploading the whole catalogue blind.
Shall we check whether your product survives online selling?
Tell us what you sell, what it weighs and where you would ship it. We tell you whether it pays off and what it would take. No commitment, nothing to sign.
